Urbanus Wambua ‘Kana’ Backs Kalonzo’s 2027 Presidential Bid, Calls for Unity in Eastern Region

Kibwezi West parliamentary aspirant Urbanus Wambua, popularly known as Kana, has declared firm support for Wiper Party Leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential bid.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) National Delegates Conference held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, Kana said the event marked a historic step toward consolidating the opposition under a single presidential candidate.

“We have officially endorsed Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as our presidential candidate come 2027. Today, we have launched his bid, and he remains the face of the opposition moving forward,” Wambua said.

He commended former Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Eugene Wamalwa, Martha Karua, and former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi for rallying behind Kalonzo’s candidacy, noting that their unity signaled a strong and organized opposition.

“Dr. Matiang’i, together with other opposition leaders, has made it clear that Kalonzo will be the flag bearer. This united front will make it easier to face the ruling side and ensure victory for the people,” he added.

Wambua took a swipe at leaders from the Eastern region who skipped the NDC, accusing them of being influenced by the ruling faction.

“Those who did not attend have already shown where their loyalties lie. The people of Eastern region will not re-elect leaders who have sold out for personal gain,” he warned.

He urged the region to remain steadfast behind Kalonzo, saying that Eastern Kenya would vote as a bloc in 2027.

“I want to assure our people that Eastern will stand firm behind Kalonzo Musyoka. Anyone who has chosen the other side should look for political seats elsewhere,” he said.

Turning to his home constituency, Wambua thanked Kibwezi West residents for their continued trust and promised to champion their interests as he eyes the parliamentary seat.

“To my people in Kibwezi West, thank you for believing in me and standing firm. Together, we will rescue this country from the hands of those who have held it hostage,” he said.

The Wiper National Delegates Conference brought together thousands of supporters and leaders from across the country, culminating in the official endorsement of Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka as the Wiper Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
