HRMPEB Certifies Record 1,130 New HR Professionals, Marking a Defining Moment for Kenya’s Workforce
Nairobi, October 24, 2025 — Kenya’s Human Resource profession reached a historic milestone on Friday as the Human Resource Management Professionals Examination Board (HRMPEB) certified its largest cohort to date, 1,130 new Certified Human Resource Professionals (CHRPs).
The landmark event, held at Jamhuri Park along Ngong Road, was not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a powerful testament to dedication, resilience, and professional excellence.
Speaking during the ceremony, officials emphasized that the certification marks more than just numbers; it symbolizes the growth of a profession that sits at the heart of organizational transformation. Each newly certified professional, they noted, represents countless hours of study, personal sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to advancing people management in Kenya.
This year’s cohort represents a significant increase from 708 graduates in 2024, underscoring the rising confidence in the CHRP qualification and the growing recognition of professional certification as a driver of workplace excellence.
Of the 1,130 certified professionals, 875 are women (77.4 percent), 255 are men (22.6 percent), and two are differently abled — a reflection of the sector’s progress toward diversity, inclusivity, and resilience. While women continue to dominate the field, HRMPEB leaders called for more men to join and contribute to the evolution of human resource management in Kenya.
To the new graduates, the message was clear: certification is both an achievement and a responsibility. As custodians of people and champions of transformation, CHRPs are expected to shape ethical organizational cultures, promote fairness, and foster innovation across workplaces.
Kenya’s HR landscape continues to grow stronger under the Human Resource Management Professionals (HRMP) Act, now in its 13th year. The country is just 120 certifications away from achieving the 5,000 CHRP-K milestone, a clear indicator of the profession’s steady rise and its alignment with global standards.
The success celebrated today also reflects HRMPEB’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Key initiatives such as the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, which values practical experience, and the Certificate per Part initiative have expanded access to professional advancement. Additional examination series and CHRP alumni dinners have further strengthened networks, mentorship, and professional unity.
Through these transformative strategies, HRMPEB continues to redefine HR education and practice in Kenya, reinforcing the profession’s central role in driving ethical leadership, inclusivity, and long-term organizational success.
