New Paleah Millers, the innovative milling company behind Lea Premium Flour, was officially inaugurated and dedicated on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Thika. This state-of-the-art facility sets a new standard for agro-processing in Kenya. Under the stewardship of its visionary leadership team and with high-level guest attendance, the event marked a major step forward in local production, infrastructure development, and job creation.

At the heart of New Paleah Millers’ success is a strong and dynamic leadership team. Mr Patrick Njiru, Founder and Chairman of New Paleah Group, delivered the opening address, expressing deep gratitude to staff, investors, and key partners. He noted that the mill’s completion is a testament to resilience and collective ambition. Mrs Leah N. Njiru, Founder and Co-Chairlady, whose entrepreneurship helped shape the company’s direction from inception, was equally celebrated.

Douglas Kuria, Group CEO, emphasized the plant’s capacity to revolutionize flour quality and supply across Kenya. He highlighted the company’s commitment to freshness, compliance with international standards, and the use of modern technology to deliver high-quality products. Evelyne Wangui Njoroge, Sales and Marketing Director, shared detailed strategies to ensure that Lea Premium Flour quickly gains a strong foothold in both urban and rural markets. The team, supported by seasoned managers in operations, production, logistics, and quality assurance, has built a foundation for a thriving enterprise that marries business excellence with social value creation.

The inauguration ceremony attracted prominent figures whose presence underscored the mill’s strategic importance. Hon Wangui Ngirici attended as a guest of honor, praising the facility as a key investment in youth employment and national food security. She reiterated her support for locally manufactured goods and spoke passionately about the need to expand Kenya’s industrial base.

Murang’a Governor Hon Irungu Kang’ata joined the ceremony and pledged county government support for the expansion of Lea Premium Flour distribution. He emphasized collaboration between public entities and private firms to spur regional industrialization.

Dr Narendra Raval, Chairman of Devki Group and esteemed industrialist, participated as a special guest. His presence symbolized confidence in the venture and Kenya’s readiness to become a regional agro-processing hub. Also present was General Ngirici, a staunch advocate for scaling up Kenya’s manufacturing sector, who commended the leadership’s vision and encouraged further private investment.

The event featured a guided tour of the manufacturing floor, highlighting automated milling lines, fortified silo storage, and rigorous quality-control laboratories. Guests sampled chapatis and baked goods made with freshly milled flour, confirming the product’s superior taste and texture.

The mill has already created over 300 jobs, especially for youth in Thika and Kiandutu, positioning New Paleah Millers as a major socio-economic partner in the community. Industrialists and government leaders present used the occasion to call for tax reforms and infrastructure investment to sustain manufacturing growth. They urged for streamlined regulations, tax breaks, and improved logistics to enhance Kenya’s competitiveness.

With a capable leadership team led by Patrick and Leah Njiru and backed by business experts like Douglas Kuria and Evelyne Njoroge, New Paleah Millers is poised to scale nationwide.
