Naivas Supermarkets, Kenya’s leading homegrown retail chain, has today officially opened its newest outlet—Naivas Lucky Summer—located in the vibrant Baba Dogo neighborhood. The launch marks the company’s second store opening in 2025 and is a strategic milestone in its ongoing 35th anniversary celebrations.

Positioned within Nairobi’s fast-growing northern suburbs, the Lucky Summer branch underscores Naivas’ aggressive expansion drive and commitment to bringing world-class retail experiences closer to the communities it serves.

“The launch of Lucky Summer is not just another store opening—it’s a reaffirmation of our purpose,” said Andreas von Paleske, Chief of Strategy at Naivas Supermarkets. “At 35, we are still as committed as ever to being a brand that shows up where Kenyans live, work, and dream. This store brings world-class retail closer to the people of Baba Dogo and is a testament to our continuous investment in Kenya’s future.”

From its modest beginnings in Nakuru in 1990, Naivas has grown into a transformative retail force, shaping consumer habits and contributing significantly to Kenya’s economic fabric. With over three decades of delivering trusted value and consistency, the Lucky Summer opening reflects a deepened commitment to community-driven progress.

The Lucky Summer store is strategically located in Baba Dogo, a densely populated and commercially active area in Nairobi. Its presence is expected to enhance Naivas’ brand visibility and accessibility in the city’s northern suburbs. The branch features a modern, intuitive layout designed to offer convenience and speed for shoppers, with a wide array of fresh produce, everyday essentials, and locally preferred products all under one roof.

In addition to improving the shopping experience, the new branch is expected to drive local economic empowerment by creating over 70 new jobs, thereby boosting livelihoods and supporting enterprise development in the surrounding area.

As Naivas looks to the future, the Lucky Summer branch stands as a testament to its broader strategy of sustainable growth, community impact, and retail innovation. With more store openings planned and a continued focus on partnerships and operational excellence, Naivas is poised to remain a cornerstone of Kenya’s retail sector.

“Naivas has always stood for value, trust, and Kenyan resilience,” added von Paleske. “With Lucky Summer, we celebrate not only 35 years of business success but also the people who’ve made the journey possible.”
