Wanjigi to pursue justice for abducted Kenyans

Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has said he will be seeking legal redress locally and internationally to ensure the government is held accountable over protest deaths and enforced disappearances

Speaking today in Nairobi, Wanjigi said he has been touched by the plight of 12 families especially of Bob Njagi and the Longton twins (Jamil and Aslam) who were abducted after visiting him at Kamukunji Police Station.

“We are at a very sad state in our history as a nation. Families and friends are extremely devastated when their loved ones are abducted and no known whereabouts even from the security agencies,” he noted.

The politician also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of abducted Kenyans who have been missing for a while.

Wanjigi linked President William Ruto to the abductions and killings of innocent Kenyans witnessed in the country since the onset of the Gen Z demonstrations which led to death of over Kenyans. In addition, he stressed that abductions, forced disappearances and extra judicial killings are slowly becoming the norm in our society.

He added “Not knowing your loved one is alive or dead is traumatizing. To make it worse, you do not know their state of health and their general well-being.”

He further revealed that they stand in solidarity and empathy with families and friends who have reported their kins as missing persons.

While addressing the security agencies, he urged the police not be used as a rubber stamp by imposing unconstitutional mechanisms in dealing with Kenyans who speak truth to power.
